This project was to create a magazine around an event of our choosing that we had attended. I chose to create mine around the course trip to Barcelona.
I consider my experience of Barcelona to have been romantic and dreamy, therefore I decided to translate this feeling into the magazine; to present Barcelona as a daydream. I wrote content which described the atmosphere of each place, organising these into three ‘dreamscapes’; I tried to write my prose in an abstract, poetic style so that the reader would become absorbed by the imagery within my writing. I chose the name ‘Reverie’ as this is defined as: ‘a state of being pleasantly lost in one’s thoughts; a daydream.’
Tactile paper stocks, drafting film and Japanese binding were used to create a dreamy feel and aesthetic. All photography, copy, editorial work and binding are my own.
